KOKIN JOSHI KEY BFlat4
The Kokin-joshi scale belongs to the group of Japanese scales because of the geographical location where it was born and its typical sound. If you are looking forward to improvise Japanese music, then the Kokin-joshi scale can be an excellent choice.
The Kokin-joshi scale does not contain neither a Major or Minor third, making it an 'ambiguous' scale. This scale be very useful when playing suspended chord or any chord that does not have a third. It can be great for improvising ethnic or modal music.
The C Kokin-joshi uses six notes per octave. Because of this same reason it is a member of the so called Hexatonic -scales that have Six-note (or Six-tone). On the piano keyboard, it is made up of two black keys: Db, and Bb and three white keys: C, F, and G. This combination makes this scale - as well as the C Akebono I, C Akebono II, and C Banshikicho - as great choices for composing or improvising Japanese music. - Internet
I successfully crafted this bamboo flute which is very melancholic in Key BFlat4 which is higher in pitch compared to the Key C4. I also can craft this flute in various keys as well. Hope you enjoy it.
